It sure is beginning to feel like the holidays around here. With the serious drop in temperature today and the leftover turkey sandwiches, the spirit of the season is certainly upon us! We're surrounded by the vintage holiday creations of Rhubarb Reign and loving all of it!

Our Holiday Open House is Saturday, December 5th from 10am-6pm. We'll be glittered and sparkled out to get you excited about the upcoming gift giving season! Local musician, Derek DiCenzo will be playing live from noon to 2pm.
We're offering a special bonus for everyone who attends the open house this year.....an organic cotton canvas "SoBo Style" tote bag (while supplies last)! How cool is that! The bags are screen printed with our logo, have an inside pocket and a long shoulder strap to haul your shopping loot home. Hope to see you on the 5th!

We just received a fresh box of cindygert recycled wool bags today! I have to say each design is cuter than the next and her craftsmanship is impeccable. Cindy's one-of-a-kind purses are made from recycled wool sweaters and old leather belts and appliqued on the front with her signature designs. If they are received like last year, you better get in here quick!

I think we found our own Swiss Family Robinson on the island at Whetstone park! This homemade hut appeared out of nowhere and had to have taken a lot of effort to design and build. Hopefully it will last through the winter so Mia and I can see how it evolves.

Made in the USA and made from 100% recycled plastic! These tot toys are totally environmentally friendly. No BPA, No Phthalates, No Lead Paint. The perfect "green" tea party set for the girls. And for the boys, it's all about the recycling truck.

Recycled Wool Bags '09

Nancy's Home Cooking
The first 3 years we were in business we were located next door to family owned Nancy's Home Cooking. When anyone asked for directions to SoBo, we just said "next to Nancy's". The stories I could tell about working next door to this landmark restaurant...the diverse crowd Nancy's attracted, the incredible amount of chicken and noodles that could be consumed on a single Thursday and the look on the customer's face when the closed sign was posted. Most importantly the true heart of Cindy, Ed, Chip and the rest of the crew at Nancy's!
To the dismay of many, Nancy's closed their doors this summer after being in business for over 30 years. The current sign says "opening soon" and I can't wait to see the line out the door when they do so.
I'm not sure when local artist Curtis Goldstein painted this street scene of the famous eatery and the first SoBo Style store front but I sure wish I could get a copy!
