Ok....did anybody else get this Antropologie catalog? I almost fell over when i pulled it out of my mailbox! I have the exact vintage sweater that they knocked off. Unbelievable!! They didn't even change the color combos!

I was in NYC for the Accessories Trade Show, Intermezzo (fashion) and The Children's Show. I left Sunday morning and returned last night. Placed some great orders for Fall. As usual, i can't wait for everything to come in......
I've been staying at the Gershwin Hotel in the flatiron district for several years. It's an old funky hotel that caters to European tourists. The decor is all pop art, mis-matched chairs and a cheap bucket of paint. I love the location and the low-keyness of it. Oh, and it's right next door to the Museum of Sex.

I think we're just about ready for our annual Sidewalk Sale Saturday! The sale items in the back room are priced and ready to go. Lydia (our suzie sobo) is back from her internship in nyc and will be working. Mom's been making cookies all week but she hates it when her cookies go limp because of the weather. The key is to see if my friend, Brenda, actually meets me at the store at 7:30am to help put the canopy up or not. let's just say, she not really a morning person.

Fall is beginning to creep into SoBo Style with these one of a kind handbags designed by Cindy Quigley. Cindy truly is an artist. Each bag is made from 90% recycled materials. A ton of work and design has gone into these purses....i just wonder who is going to snatch one up first?

Our annual summer sidewalk sale is Saturday, August 2nd from 10am-6pm. This is when we clean house before all the new fall merchandise arrives. Incredibly low prices on baby items, accessories and home decor. We've been marking down prices in the back room like crazy. Selected vintage furniture will also be discounted. In addition, all upholstered pieces will be 10% off the day of the sale. This includes any pieces with designer fabric such as chairs, vanity stools, settees and porch furniture. Good customers have learned to come early for best selection and Mom is making her tasty punch and famous homemade cookies. Hope to see you on the 2nd!

These large cornhusk marigolds just arrived at the store.....they are 25" tall and the bloom is 5" in diameter. The wire stem is covered in foam so you can bend it and make it do what you want. It's a great mid-summer look for the recycled glass bottles and they're only $7.50 each.

This is another sweet settee made from a vintage dresser. This one-of-a-kind piece features the new Anna Maria Horner home decor fabric from her Drawing Room line. We put it in the window of the store and i know it's stopping major traffic on High Street.

This wicker couch is unbelievable! It is over 6 feet long and could sit 4 people comfortably. We covered it in "Joel Dewberry" jasmine orchid print and it just turned out fabulous! The wicker is in great shape and i have never seen any wicker couch like this.

They're Here! We just got in our new skirts in two different Amy Butler prints. The "Sara" Skirts has pleats in the front and the sash sits at the hip. The length hits just above the knee, super cute and will transition into fall great.

Sidewalk Sale Success
We had our most best sidewalk sale ever! Thanks to everyone who came and helped make it so successful! Brenda showed up promptly at 7:30am to assist in with the canopy, the weather cooperated beautifully, Lydia worked cool as a cucumber at the cash registrar. We were so busy that I didn't even have time to take any photos!
Then....at 6:00pm my dear friends, Claudia and Billy, from Nashville called and said they were in Cincinnati and would be at my house in 2 hours! I had no idea they were coming so i rushed home, walked Mia, changed the sheets on the bed and vacuumed the dog hair. What a nice surprise to see Claud and Bill. Unfortunately, it was just for the night because my flight to NYC for the Accessories Show was at 8:25am Sunday morning.
I spent all day Sunday at the show, jewelry overload so say the least. Yesterday I did the Kids Show and I'm happy to report Punkster will be returning to SoBo Style. That is the company that does the baby onesies that say "I crawl the line" and "ipood". We haven't had them in over a year so I'm so excited they're shipping again and will post when they arrive.
Back to reality today at SoBo.
