New Year New Window

I spent Monday morning cutting curly willow branches for our new window display. It was cold, windy and snowy but well worth the effort. When the new wood baskets arrived I could completely visualize the crazy corkscrew branches creeping out of them. Nothing like doing a little pruning the last week of December for a new window display!

Vintage Lamp Art Sale through 12/31/09

Our vintage lamp art is 25% off through December 31st, 2009. Salvaged lamp parts and pieces are combined to create new works of art by local designer Claudia Curry. The unique lamps compliment our "up-cycle" philosophy at SoBo perfectly.

Holiday Girls Night at SoBo

Our girls night has become too big for my little Clintonville bungalow so we had our Holiday get together at the shop last night.

Lot's of yummy goodies and festive cocktails were involved.

The white elephant gift exchange is always the highlight of the evening!

Sloopy from Boomerang Room even made an appearance.

Ellen was obviously the culprit on placing the worst white elephant gift smack in the front window without my knowledge. Thanks El! And thanks to all the girls for making it such a fun evening! Merry Christmas!

Holiday Open House

Our floral arrangements were stunning!

The aroma cones were our best sellers of the day!

The vintage plate stands made a fabulous display with the rich patina holiday ornaments!

Bib Necklaces

Hedy Regal created these one-of-a-kind bib necklaces for us! Made from vintage men's silk ties and other found embellishments. They're more than a necklace and less than a scarf, and just right for the holidays under a jacket or over a sweater.

The Beast

It took 4 guys to get this beast-of-a-cabinet out of the van and in the store on Sunday. This is an unusual two sided butler's cupboard. The side facing the dining room was cherry and the side facing the kitchen was pine. It is about 8 feet tall and 4 1/2 feet wide. I don't know if any customer will ever have a place for it but I do like the Queen Bee bags displayed in it!
